This course is a study of basic skills in conversational Spanish with reference to reading and writing. Emphasis is placed on the development of language proficiency for careers and for improvement of foreign language abilities. The student demonstrates comprehension of simple written materials in Spanish through speaking, writing, or other appropriate response. The student compares and contrasts aspects of Spanish-speaking cultures with their own cultures.
