AG125 - Techniques of Cattle Selection 2 Credit(s)
Prerequisite: AG 149 Principles of Animal Science .
Focus is given to beef selection and evaluation. You will gain an understanding of form and function as it relates to beef cattle selection. Time is spent learning structural correctness, body capacity, balance, and muscularity. You will also gain an in-depth understanding of genetic tools used in each species to aid in evaluation such as Expected Progeny Differences. In addition, the different beef breeds are evaluated for strengths and weaknesses.
